EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Fibre Box Association

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Fibre Box Association (FBA) is a non-profit trade association that represents North American corrugated packaging manufacturers. Its mission is to promote, protect and enhance the overall well-being of the industry by providing the following value propositions to its 100+ member companies:

  • Member-based committees that establish technical, safety, environmental, promotional, data, and sustainability standards and positions that impact key industry stakeholders.
  • A dozen+ publications providing statistics and research about U.S. corrugated industry shipments, economic data, plastic replacement research, benchmarking data, productivity and waste statistics and injury and illness statistics.
  • An annual conference thataddresses economic and regulatory issues and challenges facing the industry, and provides an opportunity to engage affiliated associations.
  • Proactive outreach to customers, affiliated associations, and retailers to promote the benefits of corrugated packaging, with a goal of expanding the use and shipments of corrugated packaging in favor of other types of packaging because of its functional, cost and sustainability advantages over alternatives.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The person in this newly created #2 position will partner with FBA’s current President/CEO and management team to successfully execute several key initiatives around the following core areas:

  • Member Value Delivery. FBA is continually enhancing its value proposition to recruit, retain, and engage its diverse association base. This includes ongoing outreach and championing of the industry to FBA’s membership and the end users of corrugated packaging (the membership’s customers), which includes all specifiers of packaging such as Big Box retailers, to ensure corrugated is the package of choice.
  • Industry Partnerships & Coalitions. While FBA does not directly engage in legislative activities, it is an active participant with several other associations that seek alignment around the key issues facing the industry. These associations include the American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA), Corrugated Packaging Alliance (CPA), and the Independent Packaging Association (AICC) and the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation (ICPF).
  • Operations. The FBA has a dues-based budget of $4M and nine (9) staff members. The association hosts an annual meeting, produces over a dozen plus industry publications, leads nine (9) committees and manages the annual Corrugated Industry Promotion Program (CIPP), association social media pages and website.

Each of the above areas requires continuous strategic innovation, relationship cultivation, and infrastructure building to ensure members receive continuous value, and remain highly engaged in the work of the association.
