Executive Assistant to the President/CEO

The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers

Are you an indispensable executive assistant? Is being the right hand (and left) of a busy CEO your vocational calling? Do you wish you could do what you love and still have a life outside of work? If so, this may be your next professional home.

The upcoming retirement (in February 2017) of The Council’s Executive Assistant to the President/CEO is leaving a Grand Canyon-sized void that can only be filled with a superstar of equal proportions. Poised, ethical, fastidious, unflappable, and savvy are just some of the characteristics that you’ll need to possess to help this dynamic, unconventional executive continue to make an impact on the members (clients) he serves.

This combo EA/personal assistant role is chock full of critical support functions including scheduling, expense reporting and travel arrangements for both the CEO and the General Counsel and, most importantly, triaging email follow-up and clean-up.  It also involves meticulous compilation and editing of presentation materials for regular board meetings and managing the board nomination and rotation schedule.  The EA will travel each year to the beautiful Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs to help with onsite board meeting logistics.  There will also be personal work for the President such as managing benefits and family scheduling.  Overall, you will be the gatekeeper and master juggler of the executive office.

This high-energy, multigenerational office is best suited for a roll-up-your-sleeves and roll-with-the punches type of attitude. It’s full of very smart people with a fire in their belly for challenge and innovation and the members they serve.  They embrace risk takers who are a little quirky and have a work hard/play hard mentality.  Work-family life balance is taken seriously, and they strive to respect and protect this balance.  They offer generous leave policies and incredible benefits that will surely make the new EA want to stick around for a long while.

Ken Crerar is an executive whose zest for life exudes from every pore. An entrepreneur with bold ideas, he freely and colorfully speaks his mind, yet is generous with his staff. Hands-off, trusting, and full of integrity, he assumes you will be the same. His boisterous Italian nature often comes through, so he does best with an EA who can ground him. He needs you to be detailed but not rigid; anticipatory but not presumptuous. Like any executive, he has his quirks but is self-effacing enough to laugh at himself.
